Our day camps are designed to help players of all abilities improve on the fundamentals of the game. Our goal is for each player to leave on Friday with better skills, better confidence, and better knowledge on how to practice.
We divide the campers into groups based on age and ability. We make sure campers are comfortable but also challenged within their groups and teams. We vary the activities throughout the day at our camps. We usually use 20 to 30 minute increments of time blocked off for a particular activity as that is a good amount of time for young people to concentrate on one skill.
Some of the activities are geared at improving individual skills and some are geared at improving team play within small sided games. We also educate the campers on agility enhancement and how to practice to improve as a scorer.
The campers will participate in two-forty minute team games per day. During the week we track the improvement of each camper through a variety of contests. Our emphasis is on individual improvement but we also recognize top scorers with awards at the end of the week. Each camper will receive a 15 minute personal evaluation with his/her coach. During this meeting, the coach will speak to what the camper does well and what the camper needs to improve. Our evaluations have been very popular and have helped the campers to gain confidence as well.
On Friday afternoon, there will be a brief awards ceremony to recognize the improvement of our campers. Some of the campers will win medals and all of the campers will receive a report card.
Many of the campers wear their camp tee-shirt on the last day and get signatures of the staff and their new friends on the back of their shirts. Our camp is the perfect place for your son and/or daughter to improve and play basketball in a safe and healthy environment. Our coaches are excellent role models on and off the court. Coaches at the Sarah Behn Basketball Camp are top high school players, collegiate scholarship and non-scholarship student/athletes, high school coaches, collegiate coaches, and even professional athletes. Campers have fun and learn from the best!
