I don't see enough young players or older players who can make lay-ups correctly any more. I hardly ever see players who can shoot them with their left hand either.  The fundamentals of the lay-up are as essential to the development of a basketball player as any other area of the game.

I see 15 year old boys and girls dribble with their head down, go off the wrong foot, and/or hit the ball too hard off the backboard. I see even more players at all levels attempt the lay-up from an incorrect angle...which is destined to be a miss.

I don't think players are taught the fundamentals of the lay-up early enough and how important it is to take hundred of practice lay-ups a week.  If your son or daughter can't take a fluid lay-up from both sides of the basket, they should come to our basketball camp and learn the right way to take a lay-up.

Ask me about my formula for success on lay-ups...
