On Februay 23, 2010 we all witnessed a great event at Foxboro High School. Our senior point guard, Kristen Hoffman, drove in on the left side of the basket (her signature move) to score a beautiful lay-up and become the school's 9th player in history to reach that milestone.
I am quite proud of Kristen for many reasons. She worked diligently for hours with me on her shooting form. She has great BEEF! :)
She improved as a player each year --- offering more ways to score and more ways to make plays for her team.
The community support was truly awesome for Kristen's big night! There were about 500 people at the game to celebrate in an event that doesn't occur often. Little kids had their faces and chests painted with Kristen's jersey number on them. The boys' varsity basketball team had the girls' away jerseys on and they even presented Kristen with flowers when she hit the big shot.
Kristen has been a joy to coach for the last four years. Hoffman's 1000th point sparked school and community spirit and gave all the young kids in the stands something to "shoot for".....

I first opened my basketball camp 17 years ago - those years have been great and they have flown by for sure! The idea for my camp originated from my understanding that girls of all ages need more fundamentals to play basketball well. I had gone to many a camp growing up but most all of them were co-ed....and the girls took a little bit of a "back seat" in that setting. I wanted my camp to be a place for girls to learn the skills, have solid competition, and gain confidence in a place of their own. My camp has achieved just that!
Over the last 17 years, my camp has grown from 2 sites with about 200 girls to over 25 locations and 2500 campers! We now operate one of the largest and most popular camps in the New England area. Our students are taught by college coaches, varsity coaches and top collegiate scholarship and non-scholarship athletes. We work hard to improve our product every year and to stay up to date with new technology on and off the court.
This Blog and our new and improved web site is an extension of our continuing efforts to improve our programs and to bring them to you. Please check out my upcoming blogs about my philosophies on fundamentals, X's and O's, topical discussions like AAU, practice routines, and other related subjects pertaining to the awesome game of basketball. Stay tuned for an exciting development to the Sarah Behn Basketball Camp for 2010....this development is going to benefit my three young sons....and hopefully your son too!
