Westwood - Behn Basketball Community Camp - Girls Week Westwood, Massachusetts
Behn Basketball Camp is coming back to Westwood in 2024! In coordination with the Westwood Recreation Department, BEHN Basketball Camp is again offering two weeks this summer. And camp is full day, 9am - 3pm! One week for girls and one for boys.

The largest and most successful basketball camp in New England, Behn Basketball has grown throughout Eastern Massachusetts for the past 30 years with a reputation of excellent teaching focused on fundamentals. Our experienced coaches create an intense yet comfortable atmosphere that encourages learning and development. The goal is for each player to leave camp with improved skills, increased confidence, and acquired knowledge on how to practice and succeed. And of course we have fun too!

A.J. Stephens
Coach A.J "The Beast" Stephens is entering his second summer as one of our basketball camp directors. Stephens is currently the Boys' Head JV Basketball Coach at the Cambridge School of Weston, where he has been for the past 4 years. Stephens also completed his first collegiate season coaching as the top Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Daniel Webster College '16-'17 and is the Founder & Co-Director of the Beast 'Em Basketball Training Academy, a company which teaches life lessons through the game of basketball which includes; year-round AAU, seasonal camps/clinics, individual training, mentorships, academic support, little leagues and a great program to help with college recruitment.

Prior to his coaching career, Coach Stephens has many years of playing experience. Due to a few injuries before pursuing his D1 career, Stephens ended up playing D3 Basketball at Curry College. His 2012-2013 team went 21-8 overall and 15-3 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). Curry won both the regular-season and conference tournament titles. The 21 overall wins and 15 CCC wins were both school records. The team went on to appear in the NCAA Tournament. Stephens finished the season #1 in the conference in rebounds, #3 in the conference in points, #5 in the conference in FG%, and #1 in the conference in double-doubles.
Stephens attended prep school and played one season of basketball at The Storm King School (Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY) under the leadership on Army's All-Time leading Scorer "Kevin Houston", and is a graduate of Westhill High School. At Westhill, Stephens earned First Team All-Fairfield County and All-State honors. He averaged 29.3 PPG and 16.5 RPG as a senior and also averaged 24.7 PPG and 13.2 RPG over his high school career.
Check-in: Monday morning 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM. Any outstanding forms are due online before this time.
Hours: 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. There is a brief awards ceremony on Friday at 2:30.
Lunch / Camp Store: No food or snacks available for purchase. Please pack a snack and lunch and brings a water bottle!
What to Bring: Campers should wear comfortable clothing (shorts & a T-shirt), socks, sneakers, and a basketball (name on ball please!). Please pack a snack and lunch and brings a water bottle!
