Behn Basketball Camp is coming to the Mansfield M-Plex for April school vacation. This three day clinic is a well organized, efficient program for the development of individual skills and team play. Keep your game and your body in shape over spring break!

The largest and most successful basketball camp in New England, Behn Basketball has grown throughout Eastern Massachusetts for the past 24 years with a reputation of excellent teaching focused on fundamentals. Our experienced coaches create an intense yet comfortable atmosphere that encourages learning and development. The goal is for each player to leave camp with improved skills, increased confidence, and acquired knowledge on how to practice and succeed. And of course we have fun too!

The M-PLEX is a 65000 square foot climate controlled indoor multi-sports and events center conveniently located just minutes from highways I-95 and I-495, in the town of Mansfield in South Eastern Massachusetts. With a location directly between the cities of Boston, MA and Providence RI the M-PLEX serves as a sporting destination for over 250,000 local and visiting athletes and their families each year and is one of the best facilities of its kind in New England. The M-PLEX is a BCL Premier Sports facility.

Our facility features 5 high school size courts, an indoor turf field, batting cages, locker rooms, function rooms, a beer and wine licensed pub/restaurant, multiple concessions stands and a Physical Therapy tenant all under one roof!

Camp Director

Rick Fesik

Coach Rick Fesik comes with a well established background in basketball.  He created individual one – on – one training which many coaches use at all levels of basketball and has worked with many players who have developed skills to go on and have great careers in such fine basketball venues as Providence, Georgia Tech, UMASS, CCSU, St. Joseph’s, Boston College and other programs in Division II and III.

He played High School basketball at Mt. St. Charles Academy in R.I. and led the team in scoring at 16.6 per game in his senior year. Mount lost by 2 points in the State Championship game.  He was All-Division and Co-Captain.

Then, Coavh Fesik played basketball at Dean College and was the 10th Leading scorer in New England at 20.4 points a game in his senior season, starting both freshman and senior seasons. He was a walk-on at U.R.I.  He has played against and worked out with a list of ex NBA players, as well as numerous Division I, II, and III players (some International) over the years.
He coached JV basketball for 2 years at King Philip Regional under Tom Schmidt.

He has coached both boys and girls at the AAU Division 1 level for 8 years taking three of the teams to Division 1 National Playoffs/ Championships.

He is a Consultant to High School and some College Basketball Teams (Boys/Girls) throughout Eastern Massachusetts/ Rhode Island.

Rick has worked many years at Sarah Behn, Rick Patch, and Mike/Jon Babul summer basketball camps.  He also works basketball clinics and individual training throughout the year in the local community.

He is currently a Certified Special Education teacher at Joseph Case High School in Swansea, MA.  He was formerly a Special Education Teacher and an Assistant Principal at Tri-County RVTHS in Franklin, MA (2004-2010).  He graduated from Bridgewater State University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree and in 2009 with a Master’s Degree in Special Education with a 4.0 GPA.

He is married to Janet and has two children and 5 grandchildren.  His daughter played basketball for the Northeast Conference (Division I) Central Connecticut State University on a full scholarship and was Co-Captain her senior year.

Check-in: Tuesday morning 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM. Any outstanding medical forms are due at this time.

Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 noon.

What to Bring: Campers should wear comfortable clothing (shorts & a T-shirt), socks, and sneakers. You should bring a water bottle.

Coed:  This camp is for girls and boys.  Competition will be separated by age and ability.

Sample Daily Schedule

  • 9:00-9:15 Roll Call and Warm Up
  • 9:15-9:30 Agility Stations: 3 at 3 minutes
  • 9:30-9:45 Skill Stations: 3 at 5 minutes (ball handling, lay-ups, shooting)
  • 9:45-10:00 Defense Principles (shell drill, stance and sliding)
  • 10:00-10:15 Full Court Drills: 2 minute dill by team and 3 v 2, 2 v 1
  • 10:15-10:30 Break
  • 10:30-10:45 One on One Tourney: 5 dribble per offensive turn, one point for baskets, one point for steals, one point for offensive rebounds
  • 10:45-11:00 Defensive Boxing Out and Rebounding
  • 11:00-11:20 Positional Drills Stations: 10 minute offense and 10 minute defense
  • 11:20-11:30 Steal the Bacon
  • 11:30-11:40 Free Throw Tourney
  • 11:40-11:50 Dribble Knock-Out
  • 11:50-11:55 Conditioning
  • 11:55-Noon Quiz for prizes and dismissal
